There is symmetry between the elementary
particles. The superscript A before the element or
symbol indicates that element is antimatter. Protons contains 2 up and 1
down quark; and
neutrons contains 1 up
and 2 down quarks. Anti-proton contains
2 anti-up and 1 anti-down quarks; and anti-neutron contains
1 anti-up and 2 anti-down quarks.
The
Standard
Model unified electromagnetic and the weak forces into the
electroweak force. The unification was
comparable to electric and magnetic forces
by J.C. Maxwell in the 19th
century.
Fermilab
scientists
at D=Zero detector have discovered the Higgs boson(s).
The Higgs field,
which has eluded scientists,
interacts with other particles to give
them mass.
