Commercialization of Space
August 7, 2006
Using Mirror Energy, spacecraft could take people to rotating Space Stations
orbiting the Earth in minutes, the Moon in hours, and the planets in days.
The
spacecraft could take off and land from international airports anywhere in
the World, orbit the Earth before traveling to the Moon. After orbiting and
landing on the Moon, people would be given the opportunity to walk on or
explore the Moon before returning to Earth.
A five metric ton
spacecraft, for example, could take six people round trip to the Moon with
five milligrams of fuel. Five grams or the mass of a nickel could take 1,000
spaceflights to the Moon without refueling or one spaceflight every week for
twenty years.
The
initial cost is estimated at $20 million per astronauts to explore the Moon.
As the technology improves, people in business and education communities
could travel to the Moon for $2 million per person. As Luna facilities are
constructed, tourists could take Space Adventures to the Moon for under
$200,000 per person.
