Presents:
Exelon 2020 In Pursuit of More Sustainable Energy
January 10, 2009
Norm
Hansen plans to attend John Rowe's, Exelon Chairman and CEO, presentation on
Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the Palmer House Hilton. The Chicago Council on
Science and Technology, a new not-for-profit organization representing the
interests of the scientific community of metropolitan Chicago, is sponsoring
the event.
Exelon Chairman and CEO John Rowe will outline the five elements he
believes are imperative to the next U.S. president's energy policy. Rowe
will provide recommendations for development of the nation's energy policy
framework, an issue that will define the success of the next administration
and this nation in the next four years and beyond. He will discuss the
important role of science and technology in driving innovation to create new
low-carbon energy solutions. In the address, Rowe also will explain Exelon's
own comprehensive plan for addressing climate change, Exelon 2020: A Low
Carbon Roadmap, which will reduce, offset or displace more than 15 million
metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2020. This is more than the
company's current annual carbon footprint and the equivalent to taking
nearly 3 million cars off the roads.
